Black Wednesday 2005

I like to think of myself as generally optimistic. However, if memory serves, my posts regarding the NHL this year have been to the contrary.

Today, a least there’s closure. Bettman has declared cancellation of the ‘04-’05 season. So, that’s that.

And, as I have in most of my posts, I’ll offer an update to the G4TechTV’s version of the hockey season: with about 65% of the season played, the Wings are sitting in 9th of the Western Conference–just missing the playoff cutoff line. I maintain the folks at G4 are biased (of course I’m not biased at all).

Black Wednesday indeed. Enough to make a grown man cry. OK maybe not, but it still sucks eggs.

My condolences. Now all hockey needs is a steroid scandel in 10 years and the parelells between Hockey and Baseball will be complete.

    Go College Hockey!
