Property IV (lay of the land)

A friend suggested checking out Microsoft’s TerraServer. It’s pretty cool, and shows property fairly well. Here’s our property:
  · Aerial Image
  · Topographic Map

I took the liberty of screencapping the aerial photo and modifying it to try to illustrate our plans. Keep in mind that this is VERY rough … the actual site for the new home is in the north-east ¼ of the property. See that here. (Bow to my ubah MS Paint skills.)

I don’t mean to be critical here, but aren’t those trees in the way?

Very observant. Yes they are. There are many trees in the way!

As a result of your comment, I’ve realized that I don’t think I described one aspect of the property, but will post on that soon (parbly tomorrow).

Ok, the trees are not worth a whole post. In short, the land is in a tax state of forest deferral. What that boils down to is that of the 20 acres on the property, 19 have to be with timber at any given time.

So, when we clear an area (say, for a homesite), we’ll have to replant another area (say where the old house is/was). Therefore, there will be many trees present in any aerial shot.
