#1 song

I know you love music. Someone built this tool to tell you what the US or British #1 song was on a given day (the idea is on the day you’re born).

Me? Knock Three Times by Dawn (US). How 70’s. The British one was some song I’ve never heard of.

Anyone have anything interesting to note?

US chart - Jessie’s Girl - Rick Springfield

Its somewhat (not really) funny because I like that song, but I don’t know why. Maybe boogie nights got it stuck in my head.

Colin–maybe you like it cause secretly you knew that was your #1 song. Similarly, I like Knock Three Times, even though it’s a cheesy song.

Love Will Keep Us Together - Captain & Tennille

    That just sounds wrong.

The Love You Save by The Jackson Five.

    Oh man.

My “life’s theme song” (song that was #1 on my 18th birthday) is Foolish Beat by Debbie Gibson.

Yup. I have no idea what either of these songs sound like.

The Theme to Shaft by Isaac Hayes. Just goes to show you all roads lead to South Park!

Ooh, Crocodile Rock by Elton John for my 18th birthday…never heard of the song OR the artist on the day I was born. Who are The Fontane Sisters?? Probably dead by now, huh?

Jeesh–”December 1963 (Oh What a Night) for my birthday. If possible, my 18th birthday is even worse–”The Sign” by Ace of Base. At least I know both of the songs.

    Get this…

Day of Birth = “Tragedy” - Bee Gees. What the heck!?
British Charts= “I Will Survive” - Gloria Gaynor (So far, so good)

18th Birthday = “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” = Puff Daddy (That’s more like it!)

Too damn old to even have the records for my date of birth on their site, huh?!! So, why give a crap about my life theme at this point. There, that’ll show ‘em! :-)

DOB - Best of My Love by The Emotions
18th Bday - You are Not Alone by Michael Jackson

I don’t particularly care for having a ballad for my life’s theme song, especially one that brings to mind visions of the creepy music video staring Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley.

    But Dave - Tragedy? Yikes.
