Kid Thinking
Ok. Kinda sappy, but i think everyone will agree, pretty darn cute!
Recently, my kids have been into Star Wars. I was very much into it when I was younger (wasn’t everyone?). As a result, I had many, many Star Wars toys.
After all the years, a family member was very kind to keep track of it. Well, very kind and helpful in many ways…this one pertains to this story. About a week ago, I asked about it, and 5 days later a rather big box arrives at our house (thx again).
We dug into it yesterday. My kids couldn’t get enough of it…asking who they guys were, good guy or bad guy, how’s this ship work, how to setup the Ewok village, on and on. Within minutes they called to Michelle (who was on the phone in the other room) to “come and look at this”. So much excitement… and, oh yeah, the kids were pretty happy too.
First thing this morning, both kids played a bit with them, until mean old Dad made them get dressed and ready for school. A short time later, Lucas asked Michelle something: “Can boxes come from heaven?”.
So cute.
Michelle, thinking about the Star Wars box, pressed a bit. Lucas stated his thinking: “well, daddy’s pretty old [thanks for that!] and his daddy must be up in heaven”. Apparently Lucas thinks my dad had the box and sent it to us.
What I learned from this? Keep your kids’ favorite toys for their kids, then send it to them at age-appropriate time. Makes for a truly priceless memory.
