Propert XV (the loan)

Short, quick update:  Pretty much, all is in place except for the financing. The construction loan we are pursuing is a “one-time close” loan that actually is the construction loan in combination with the final long-term mortgage. As a result, we have to qualify for both (all), and there are a ton of variables.

My understanding, as it has been before, is that all looks fine. We are waiting on the final underwriter to approve things.

By the way, we have all documentation:  Building Permit, Well Purity Test (potability), Septic Permit, etc. All is good to go except the bloody money.

Meanwhile, here comes the rain. Flooding has occurred in many places around Oregon, including Salem area a bit. We have had a stack of rain the past couple weeks, and not sure if/when it’d supposed to let up. Our dry creek bed that we spent many weekends clearing out is now full of water, rushing very quickly. I must say, the part we cleared sure allows the water to cruise through there–just what we want/need. Next summer we’ll clear out the rest. That’s just one of the many many items I look forward to addressing once we actually get to live there.

Hopefully another post soon–with actual results this time!
