On Valentine’s Day, we met with the person who is advising us regarding the timber on our property. I know, I’m a romantic. Or not.

Some good news! It seems timber values have risen again–back to near where they should be. This meeting was to be certain all parties knew what was to be done, and what to expect from the thinning of the trees. Decisions were made, and a few days later, a contract was signed by the 3 parties (us, consultant, logger). These guys have been extremely gracious and helpful in this process–if you have trees in the Salem area and need a person to talk to, email me–I’d highly recommend this guy!

Last Thursday, the consultant revisited the property and marked the trees to be taken. I suspect the logger to arrive this week and begin the harvesting. I plan to have some pictures. They method used to thin the trees involves some cool machinery, if I understand things correctly. I’m still working on a gallery–I guess I’m too simple to really understand just how that works.

So, yeah. Things are still in-progress on the property. We will get this house built! Stay tuned, more to come.
