The Barn is clicking right along!

Since the last post, we have nearly finished all the painting. I know, I know, I’ve griped for a while about all the painting we’ve been doing. But, consider we’ve had to paint everything in the house at least twice - prime and paint. This is exterior, interior walls, ceilings …and baseboards, door casings, doors themselves, on and on. I should get a count on how many gallons of paint we’ve gone through…that might be interesting to note.

That aside, we now are getting the finishing touches. In the past couple weeks, we have:

• vinyl flooring (carpet coming Tuesday the 31st)
• electrical–sockets wired and covered a week or so ago, then yesterday, the installation of all light fixtures
• plumbing–yup: sinks, toilets, water heater
• microwave hood–sounds somewhat minor, but let me tell you, these are a PITA to put in

Still to do:

• carpeting Tuesday
• cleanup of burn site
• (possibly) asphalt a section of the driveway
• finish grading
• handful of inspections
• oh yeah! put up the basketball hoop next to asphalt

Again, pictures don’t really convey the look of things, but I’ll see what I can do to get pictures posted.
